2011 to 2016
For five years, March 2011 to March 2016, Zed Wheel Works operated online as zedwheels.com and created hand built bicycle wheels for the cycling enthusiast. Zed Wheel Works is now closed and ceased operation in March 2016.
Over that period of time, Zed Wheels had been ridden to many victories at the amateur level, including provincial championships, and Canadian national championships. As well, Craig Richey rode Zed Wheels ‘CrossRock’ carbon cyclocross wheels at the CX World Champs in Kentucky. Adam de Vos, now a pro with Team Rally, rode Zed Wheels in Europe on pavé, and tweeted that “Zed Wheels are now pavé tested”. Locally, the Victoria Cycling League races have been the place to see riders on Zed Wheels. As much as one third of the riders were on Zed Wheels on any given local amateur race. In 2016, Erin Attwell won the junior national road race championship on Zed built wheels.
For 3 years, from 2012 through 2014, Zed Wheels sponsored the Cross on the Rock cyclocross series, offering up hand built wheels for prizing.
Broad Street Cycles
Today, former owner/operator Brad continues his craft part time by contracting his wheel building skills to Broad Street Cycles, 1419 Broad Street, Victoria, BC, Canada. Broad Street Cycles (BSC) is a full service bike shop in the heart of downtown Victoria. Featured brands are Focus, BMC, Bianchi, and Felt. The staff at BSC are avid cyclists, many competing at the high amateur levels, in cross country, road, track and cyclocross races. They are exceptionally friendly staff and they are more than willing to help their customers. I highly recommend BSC.
For warranty concerns, please contact Broad Street Cycles. Brad will try to honour concerns related to materials and workmanship for one year from purchase. Many products, such as the hubs and some rims, have warranties up to 5 years.
I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to those that chose Zed Wheel Works for their custom hand built wheel set. Thank you and happy riding. – Brad
