Renny recently bought a new Focus Izalco road bike. It’s pretty darn sweet with Sram Red and decent wheels. However, he wanted to knock some rotational weight down for racing and knew I was clearing out last year’s inventory of CrossRock CX rims. 340gram wide carbon rims, tubular laced to our Taiwanese house brand “Bitex” hubset. At 1210g for the set, they are pretty good weight with “regular” butted spokes – Sapim Race drive-side and Sapim Laser elsewhere.  He raced on these wheels shortly after getting the Vittoria tires glued on, and commented how the ride felt compliant yet without any flex or brake rub. The braking was surprisingly good.
